Rekeying Services

One of the many services offered by Marshall's locksmith is lock rekeying.  If you're moving into a new house or business, the first level of safety is to have your locks rekeyed.  While some prefer to change the locks completely, often rekeying your existing locks is sufficient.  Rekeying involves taking your existing locks out and changing the pinning for the cylinders so they take a new key. This can be done at your home or place of business or you can save money and bring your locks in to our shop.  Either way this simple easy solution can help you feel more secure.

Should You Rekey?

Your Security could be at risk if you've:

  • Fired or lost an employee
  • Given your keys to maintenance crews, contractors, employees, house-keepers/nannys
  • Moved to a new residence

At Marshall's we are your security professionals. We show people everyday where they are vulnerable and what they can do to protect themselves. We sell security, we offer service, we provide expertise. We give you peace of mind.

Rekeying only restarts the cycle...

There are many common situations that put the keys to your home or business in the wrong hands. It is easy for criminals to duplicate your keys. The results can be unauthorized access to your personal property, customer files, cash, company records, as well as other important and valuable items. Rekeying your locks does not solve your problem, it only restarts the cycle...a cycle that leads to expensive rekeying again and again in the future. The reality is that most standard keys are easy to duplicate. All that's required is to take them to a key cutter at a hardware or department store. Remember the last time you had keys made? Were you asked for identification or authorization before the keys were cut? Criminals can even duplicate your keys by writing down the number stamped on the key and taking it to a key cutter.

Key control is the most important aspect of your security. If you can't control who can copy your keys, you can't control your security. Without proper key control you are faced with the threat of expensive rekeying every time your keys leave your sight. As the ONLY RBA authorized Medeco Service Center in North Carolina, we can offer an advanced level of key control offered by Medeco's patented M3 locking system. The M3 system makes it virtually impossible for someone to duplicate your keys without your knowledge.

Only authorized Medeco dealers have Medeco key blanks and cutters. Before any duplicate keys are made, a security authorization card or signature authorization card must be presented and vertified. What's more, we document who and how many keys were made so you have a complete audit trail. No other lock can offer this cost effective method to dramatically impove the security of your business, home or apartment.
